Baby Naming Ceremonies
Naming ceremonies are all about introducing the child to what will be their first experience of community – the people who will teach them what it means to belong. It is a chance for parents to celebrate their new status and to introduce their offspring to those who mean something to them.
These ceremonies are a lot of fun – they are about the people the parents choose to have besides them – to offer the privilege of taking a particular, special role in that child’s life – they make their promises as well. One of the first choices is what to call these people – and what we are going to ask them to do.
For both the parents and those they choose to guide the child through life, it is a moment to say out loud what they commit to do – they may be making a particular promise or offering a particular skill.

“Thank you again for all you did to make T—-‘s naming day so very special and unique. The ceremony was everything we could have wished for, and so many of our friends wanted to tell us how much they loved it. Several have said that they now want the same kind of ceremony for their little ones!”
“Croianna, you really did H—- and us proud with the lovely event you organised and spoke at for all of us.”
“You really helped D—- and me through the whole thing and gave me the confidence to stand up and speak in front of everyone.”
