Wedding Days & Renewal Of Vows

weddings Croianna Bradshaw

We have all been at weddings which don’t really seem to be about the couple who should be at the centre of it all.

On the other hand, it is really exciting to be able to take absolute ownership of a wedding – where you want, with whom you want, when you want – to use words and symbolic gestures that are the most meaningful and beautiful to those involved. We involve family and friends – it is not just something that people witness, they are there to demonstrate their involvement as part of the community that will love and support the couple throughout their lives together, and we encourage them to see that.

Sometimes the ceremonies are very close to the traditional, sometimes very different, but all are meaningful, individual and carefully chosen. I help and encourage the couple to write their own vows, so that what the couple say to each other is an exact reflection of what marriage means to them personally.
Currently, there are many people who have civil partnerships who are now getting married – both a renewal of those original vows, and a recognition of the law catching up the reality of their relationship. I am delighted and honoured to conduct such joyous ceremonies.

Renewal Of Vows

At the time two people stand together and make a commitment at the wedding, that is all about hope.
A renewal of vows is about confirming that this works. It may be to mark a significant point such as a certain number of years or a big life change – or it may be because you just want to express what you still mean to each other and restate your commitment to each other.

People who have been through a difficult time often want to reaffirm their relationship in front of not only many of those who were at the original wedding, but those who have come to be important to them and their marriage in the meantime.

Alternatively, you might wish for a more private and intimate ceremony, where the focus is purely on the two of you – these can be among the most powerful and special of occasions.

“Thank you for all your help in making our wedding day so special. We loved the ceremony, it was so unique and personal to us.

“We had a wonderful day – Thank you.”

“Croianna, thank you for being our wedding celebrant, you were totally awesome!”
